Refer to the Part Printing Guidelines section of the official assembly manual for general print settings. For the latest parts files, visit the Milo V1.5 Github repository these file may not have been tested with the LDO kit.
For the best experience it is recommended to print all of the part from the LDO Repo .
Note: Some parts in the LDO parts are not listed below, they are generally minor modifications to the heat insert hole sizes.
Refer to the following directions for LDO kit specific options:
- Purple - These are not optional and must be printed for our kit to work.
- Blue - These are optional parts/changes that improve fit, appearance, or quality of life.
- Rear Skirt B - This custom inlet skirt replaces the standard printed part. It fits better with the AC inlet provided in the kit.
- Spindle Mount - Kits sold in the EU come with a 80mm air cooled spindle, make sure to print the corresponding 80mm Spindle Mount. Check with your vendor whether a spindle is provided and what size it is.
- FLY CDY Mainboard Mount - This is an LDO designed mount for the FLY CDY V3 mainboard provided in the kit. It replaces the original printed part and allows for easy insertion of the SD card.
- I/O Expansion Board Mount - This is a printed mount for the LDO I/O expansion board included in the kit. The expansion board allows the mainboard to control the spindle VFD.
- Power Supply Mount - The LDO kit comes with the LMF350-UH series compact power supply. This power supply requires a different set of mounting brackets than the standard part. The brackets can be found here.
- VFD 110v Mount- Kits sold in the US with 110v VFD will require this mount inplace of the DIN rail which will require 2x M5 Heatset Inserts, 2x M5x16 screws for the VFD, 4x M5x10 screws and 4x M5 t-nuts/hammerhead.
- Wago Mount- This is a printed mount to mount the WAGOs included in the kit. This is used to connect the mains to the E-Stop and power supplies.
LDO Handwheel - This is an optional handle wheel design which features knurling and replaces the original handwheel design. There is also an alternative design with knurling omitted.
- Drag Chain Parts- These parts help prevent flop on the cable chain:
- X Motor Mount, This part features a small tab that prevents the X drag chain from flopping. It replaces the original X motor Mount
- FMJ Z Chain Backer, This part mounts on the FMJ plate. It also features anchor points for cable ties.
- Z Drag Chain Mount B, This part replaces the original Z Drag Chain Mount B, it helps prevent flopping.
- Cable Management - These optional parts help with cable management in the Milo:
- Top Z Cable Anchor, this part provides an anchor point for cable ties at the top of the main column.
- Rear Cable Cover, this part helps hold down the X and Y cables onto the electronics table.
The following mods are included in the standard LDO Milo V1.5 Kit. Follow the instructions below for printed parts used by these mods:
- Long John Toolsetter - The Long John Toolsetter is a low cost probe for setting tool height. LDO created a special version of the this toolsetter using a high accuracy optical microswitch. The printed housing for this probe can be found here. Remember to remove the printed support inside the cavity.
- F.I.X.A.T.E.D - The LDO kit comes standard with a fixture plate as part of the FIXATED mod. The version included in the kit is the “continental breakfast”. Print this part for attaching the plate to the X table.
- FMJ Z Plates - The Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) mod is a pair of machined plates that are used to rigidly hold together the Z column extrusions. The LDO kit includes this mod and therefore none of the printed main column plates and reinforcement brackets in this directory are needed. (You still need to print the Ballast Box and Ballast Cap)
