This build note will help identify variations from the Official Voron V0.2 Assembly Manual as of Feb 1, 2023, to avoid issues changes to the official manual such as page number changes we recommend using our link to the correct version for these notes. We tried our best to capture all of the changes. Please let us know of other changes you discover via our channel #ldo_motors on the Voron Discord Server
CAUTION: Do NOT use balldrivers for M2 Screws there is a high probability of stripping the screwhead.
PAGE 12 SKIP Extrusions are pre-drilled
PAGE 13-15 Extrusions F & G are not included since the Kirigami bed will be used. All extrusion ends are tapped for your convenience. As a result, Extrusions A & B are the same and Extrusions C & H are also the same. (see Page 229 for TopHat extrusions)
PAGE 18 SKIP The kits include nut bars
PAGE 19 The linear rails need to be cleaned and lubed - Please refer to the Linear Rail Greasing Guide. Be extra careful unwrapping with the rail that does not have the rubber stoppers, this is the HiWin rail for the x-axis.
PAGE 20 Insert the nuts bar rough side up, so there is more friction to keep the rail from slipping.
PAGE 23 Highly recommended to print ~120 x V0 No-Drop Nuts of the NoDropNut_12mm.stl and 2 x NoDropNut_Door_Latch_x2.stl. The others are not needed/optional. TIP: Preload ~110 nuts into the No-Drop mod, this will save time in the long run.
PAGE 36-46 SKIP Please use our Kirigami Bed Guide for assembly
PAGE 52 SKIP (Optional) “Preload 1 M3 Nut” on the top Z extrusion for the Cable Tie since it cannot not be used with the Picobilical. (see page 218)
PAGE 81 TIP: Insert your hex key into the holes thru the nut to pre-align the nuts into place.
PAGE 92 For Kirigami please use the corresponding part. The spring and top part of the backlash nut does not attach until later.
PAGE 93 SKIP Not needed for Kirigami
PAGE 99 OPTIONAL: We recommend LDO detachable spool holder uses 1 screw, so preload 3 nuts if you intend to use this.
PAGE 104 Do NOT apply any lubricant on the leadscrew, since it's Teflon coated.
PAGE 105 Attach the top and spring on the backlash nut on this step, refer to the video on Page 93. This can be a little tricky to get the part to properly mesh and spring into place, so take your time.
PAGE 106 This step is very critical, misalignment could cause permanent damage to the backlash nut or pre-mature excessive wear.
PAGE 128 Use M3x8 BHCS instead of FHCS this works fine for most hotends including the LDO Voron Revo.
PAGE 139 SKIP Metal thumbscrew are included in the kit
PAGE 140-142 SKIP Kit bed and heater comes preassembled. Only thing to do is fasten the bed thermistor into the center hole on the bottom of the bed.
PAGE 143 Use M3 lock nuts with the flat side up rather the the M3 hex nut and washer. We recommend using an M3x30 or M3x35 screw for the Kirigami bed instead of the M3x40
PAGE 145 Kirigami Bed wiring for the heater, thermistor, and neopixel. Please use our Kirigami Bed Guide for wiring
PAGE 145 SKIP Heat insert for printed spacer are not required, since the kit includes aluminum spacers.
PAGE 180-181 SKIP Please follow our guide for the LDO Picobilical setup.
PAGE 186-190 The stock DIN cleats and mount will not work with Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W + USB Expansion board, since it will be too tall for the back panel to close. LDO recommends the following two options.
PAGE 191-192 Please refer to the LDO Wiring Guide for all of the electrical steps
PAGE 197-200 Please refer to the LDO Wiring Guide for all of the electrical steps
PAGE 208-212 Partially thread the screws into the nuts first since the skirt can slide afterwards.
PAGE 218-219 SKIP Cable Tie will not fit with the Picobilical PCB in place and the motor panel is not needed.
PAGE 230 OPTIONAL: If you would like to use the LDO Name Plate part, for just ONE extrusion pre-load 4 hex nuts in each of the slots rather than 2 hex nuts. This is be the front extrusion for mounting the name plate, the side with the screws for the cam locks.
